I’m happier and sleep well!..

We are designers who do environmentally friendly energy efficient buildings that do not cost the earth to build or operate.

I finally realised that I need to be more effective at leading and running my business; being good at my Job wasn’t enough! Help found me through the East Midlands Chamber of Commerce, and I was encouraged to use a Business Coach. I was totally reluctant to do so, but knew I needed outside support. I discussed what help I though I needed with a few suggested coaches all of which could have supported me very well. I also knew that I didn’t want a coach from a similar professional back ground to mine, but one who was not from my industry that could perhaps look at my business with fresh eyes as it were, and boil the business down with me to it’s constituent parts. In David, I found a coach who I felt I could be completely open with, that I wouldn’t be judged and I knew, very importantly, that I could work with, be respected by and be respectful of David.

David took time to help me better understand who I am, what my business is and what is important to me about my business. This sounds simple but it is not. David has worked with us to create a clear picture of the future and a plan as to how to get there - all done in a way that gets the team to buy in and “own” the plans. David has helped me develop my personal style at work to be more effective when leading others, and is now coaching my team to help them develop and succeed too.

In implementing our plans for the future, we’ve seen our team productivity increase, our customer satisfaction and retention increase, our clients are recommending us to other clients; everything has been positive, and we have a happier healthier team. That being said, our journey to this point has challenged us in ways that I did not expect; we discovered some of our team would be happier in other positions; new team members have joined us with clarity in our business objectives and what is expected. We’ve not changed, just evolved and evolved as a team.
